The Stamford Hurricanes Boys U13 Gold soccer team notched two wins in a successful weekend of play. In Connecticut Cup action, the Hurricanes dominated the Trumbull Tornados, 6-0. Uriy Yosypiv and Mikolaj Musial each had a hat trick with Angel Uribe and Juan Medina providing assists. Justin Wexler and Will Hallett combined for five saves in goal. Jorge Cordova and Benjy Robinov also played well in the midfield while Joe Magnifico and Matt Alswanger anchored the defense. In South West District league play, the Hurricanes won 1-0 over a tough Newtown squad. The Hurricanes' lone goal came from Darin Harper in the 51st minute from Musial. Wexler saved six shots, and Magnifico, Alswanger and Jason Alvarez played strong defense. Other standouts included Matt Rutherford, Ben Joseph, Julian Gallego, Liam Shanahan and Brandon Hoak.
