Stamford Skaters Kick Off New Season

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Southern Connecticut Skating Club kicked off the start of the synchronized skating season last weekend at its annual summer clinic at Terry Conners Ice Rink. 

Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating is comprised of three teams. The Shimmers are the mid-level team. They will compete in the Pre-Juvenile division for the 2011-2012 season. The Sprites are the introductory level team. In the 2011-2012 season, the Sprites will compete in the Beginner division. The Shadows are the highest-level team. They will compete in the Open-Juvenile division for the 2011-2012 season. The Shadows will have their clinic kickoff Sunday. Members of the Shimmers include Stamford’s Stephanie Tancs, Rachel Mensah, Julia Brown, Lily Fine, Kathryn Berger, Alyssa Fish, and Isabela Malone. Girls from Norwalk, Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Westport and Rye Brook, N.Y. include Kalaudia Auz, Michelle Han, Margot Sosa,  Haley Fuller, Sydney Willis and Rhea Munjal.
