Stamford American Little League Plans Rookie Clinic

STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford American Little League will conduct a free rookie clinic for players ages 4-6 on March 2, at Davenport Ridge Elementary School.

The clinic runs from 2-3 p.m. Parents should register boys and girls for the clinic at Stamford Baptist Church, 602 High Ridge Road, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. Parents can also register at the church on Feb.  7, from 6-8 and on Feb. 9, from 9-noon. Parents can also arrive early the day of the clinic to register their child.

Players will learn baseball basics, such as field layout, positions, objective of the game, how to hold a bat and how to throw. Parents will learn the basics of being involved in the league.

To be eligible, players must have been born before April 30, 2009. A birth certificate and three forms of proof of residence are required for registration in the league.
