Six Stamford Students Honored For Academic-Athletic Achievements

STAMFORD, Conn. — Several Stamford student athletes were honored for their performances on and off the field this past weekend at the 30th annual Connecticut High School Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet.

The Stamford honorees were: Eric Altamura (Stamford High), Claire Kaptinski (Stamford High), Bryan Pollack (Westhill High), Megan D’Alessandro (Westhill High), Nick Bellacicco (Trinity Catholic) and Marisa Carpanzano (Trinity Catholic).

The Scholar-Athlete program honors a male and female senior student-athlete from each member high school whose achievements on the field and in the classroom are exemplary and can be seen as models to other students, the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference’s website said.

This year’s selected student-athletes were honored this past Sunday at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.
