Scofield Magnet Wins Stamford's Middle School Softball Championship

STAMFORD, Conn. – Scofield Magnet won Stamford’s Middle School Softball Championship last month when they defeated Trinity Catholic Middle in a 1-0 game.

Scofield's pitcher Madison "Madi" Thibodeau and Trinity's pitchers Heather Fraioli and Charlee "Chach" Horton all took to the mound. Scofield's Amy Covino scored the only run when she was forced home by Skye McLeod’s walk with the bases loaded.

In their regular season meetings this year, Scofield and Trinity split 1-1, and Trinity was the only team to beat Scofield. Their post-season meetings were tied 1-1. Scofield had finished second last year to Rogers International School.

Scofield is coached by teacher Nick Sollitto and assisted by parents Jim Hogan and Mike Magarian. Trinity is coached by parent Joe Jablonski and assisted by parents Ron Lauture and Mike Butler.
