The Coach Nof Tackles Cancer Campaign will run throughout the year, with the Pioneers hosting a "Blue Out Game" on Nov. 7 versus Duquesne. Sacred Heart opens its season on Sept. 5 against Saint Anselm.

Nofri, 45, was diagnosed with colon cancer following the Pioneers’ 2014 football season.  He underwent surgery to remove the mass and is currently in the midst of a six-month regimen of chemotherapy.

Nofri has remained at work during the treatment, and is expecting to be on the sidelines for opening day.

The Pioneers will wear a blue ribbon on their helmets this season in support of Coach Nofri. In addition, there will be a variety of Coach Nof Tackles Cancer paraphernalia available for purchase at home football games, with proceeds benefitting the Colon Cancer Alliance.

The Colon Cancer Alliance has created a web page to support the Coach Nof Tackles Cancer Campaign. By registering as an individual or team at www.noftacklescancer.com fans can support the Colon Cancer Alliance, get exclusive access to a pre-game tailgate party on Nov. 7 as well as receiving a commemorative "Blue Out" item.
