STAMFORD, Conn. A new Stamford-based cheerleading team named the Gold Coast All-Stars recently concluded its season with six top-three finishes and four champions at the U.S. Finals competition in Providence, R.I.
Two teams, the Greenwich Liberty All-Stars and the Stamford Cheer Excape All-Stars, merged to form Gold Coast. The team was launched last August by coaches Stacey Friedlander, Samantha Longo and Amber Wilson. The athletes range in age from 3 to 30 and come from Stamford, Greenwich and other communities in Fairfield and Westchester counties.
At the U.S. Finals, winners included Gold Coast's Mini Level 1 Crew and Youth Level 1, Junior Level 1 and Junior Level 2 teams. The Senior Level 3 team placed second, and the Senior Level 2 team placed third.
In final national rankings after the U.S. Finals, the Mini Level Crew team was ranked seventh out of 92 teams in the country. The Junior Level 1 team was ranked No. 1, and the Senior Level 2 was ranked sixth. The Senior Level coed squad was ranked fifth. The Youth Level 1 and Junior Level 2 teams were also highly ranked. National rankings are based on scores from the seven regions of the U.S. Finals.
Gold Coast featured eight teams and won 26 first-place trophies, six national championships and four grand championships in events this past year.
"We are so proud of our team members. They have an incredible commitment to each other and Gold Coast. We have grown into a tight family this first season and know that will only get better as we grow. The best is yet to come," said Tammy Thompson, a coach and choreographer for Gold Coast.

Mini Level 1 Crew Team: Jessica Baden, Talia Broems, Alexa Denn, Karleigh Denn, Madison Goldstein, Dilyn Hartnett, Jordyn Hartnett, Noa Pogany, Isabella Ranero, Mikhaila Skared, Hailley Torres, Mary White and Alexa Yantorno. Coaches are Alexis Moy and Taylor Sechi.
Youth Level 1 Whirlwinds Team: Miranda Anderson, Taylor Bell, Olivia Borchetta, Mia Cirillo, Karleigh Denn, Alyssa Guilmette, Sydney Harris, Madison Goldstein, Leah Jacobson, Kylie Lopiano, Cristina Mazzeo, Mackenzie McAlarney, Adrianna Rabita, Ashley Telesca, Julianne Vavolizza and Lauren Vellecca. Coaches are Tammy Thompson and Leann Moy.
Junior Level 1 Explosion Team: Jennifer Acevedo, Jocelyn Aquino, Karolina Bertulis, Nadia Bjornadotir, Stephanie Carrasquillo, Victoria Cuscuna, Mary Dietz, Samantha Herman, Brittany Kellner, Kylie Lopiano, Daniella Ortiz, Julia Putrino, Sara Rave, Alexandra Scarvey, Manuala Tabares, Cameron Tuttle and Samantha Velez. Coaches are Tammy Thompson and Taylor Sechi.
Junior Level 2 Chaos Team: Karolina Bertulis, Samantha Cuscuna, Olivia DiLascia, Alex Farricker, Madison Feda, Katelyn Grimes, Sydney Harris, Katie Kelly, Taylor Longo, Julie Mandell, Maddie Morris, Audrey Niblo, Sydney Noble, Julia Putrino, Isabella Ranero, Annabelle Resnick, Erika Schreiber and Julianne Vavolizza. Coaches are Denise Darge and Tammy Thompson.

Coaches are Tammy Thompson and Denise Dargel.
Tumbling coaches are head Instructor Eddie Rios with Ricky Carter and Henry Moy.
