Women And Girls Gathering For Leadership Summit In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- More than 100 middle school girls from private and public schools throughout the area are expected to attend Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s Fund for Women and Girls Third Annual Leadership Summit in Stamford.

The summit, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 13 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Chelsea Piers, 1 Blachley Road, will include presentations, team-building activities and leadership development workshops led by professionals, in conjunction with a number of girls from local high schools serving as leaders at the event.

Attendees will also participate in activities such as gymnastics, ice-skating, trampolining and rock climbing.

At the end of the summit, the girls will receive leadership journals to track their progress.

Community leaders at the summit will include: Juanita James, president & CEO of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation; Tricia Hyacinth, manager of the foundation’s Fund for Women and Girls; and student leaders from New Canaan and Westbrook.

The keynote speaker at the summit will be Lauren Galley, who will share insights from her “Girl Talk” program.
