Two Teachers Attacked By Students At Stamford's Westhill

STAMFORD, Conn. — Two Westhill High School staff members were assaulted by students this week, Stamford Police Lt. Diedrich Hohn said.

The most recent incident took place Friday morning when a 16-year-old female student walking in the hallway grabbed a female teacher by the neck and threw her to the floor and then kicked a male security guard in the stomach, Hohn said. The teacher had asked the girl why she was in the hallway before the attack, he said.

The other incident took place Wednesday when a 16-year-old male student entered a classroom and sprayed a substitute teacher in the face and eyes with cleaning fluid, Hohn said. The student thought it would be funny, Hohn said.

In each case school resource officers subdued the students and arrested them, he said.

The female student was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, the male with one count of third-degree assault, Hohn said.
