Stamford's AITE Earns Magnet School Honor

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford’s Academy of Information Technology & Engineering has been recognized as a 2013 Magnet School of Distinction, the Stamford Public Schools announced.

“AITE is honored to be recognized with this prestigious award,” Principal Paul Gross said in a statement.

The Stamford inter-district public magnet school received the award from Middle Schools of America, the National Association for Magnet and Theme-based schools, the release said.

Tina Rivera, assistant principal at AITE, is in Tulsa, Okla., for the 31st annual National Conference on Middle Schools. She will receive a merit award plaque for the school’s distinction while at the conference.
