“I am pleased that the board has expressed their confidence in me by extending my contract,” Hamilton said in a statement. “I look forward to working together for the next three years, and fulfilling my long-term commitment to the Stamford Public Schools.”
“With her new senior team coming on board, we look forward to tremendous progress for the future,” Board of Education President Geoff Alswanger said in the release expressing his pleasure in the extension.
Hamilton was originally contracted from July 2012 through June 2015 when she was officially hired as the superintendent, the release said. Three years is the contract limit for superintendents in Connecticut, the release said.
