Stamford Students Earn College Honors

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Dozens of Stamford students recently received academic honors from their respective colleges and universities.

  • More than 20 students from Stamford were named to the Western Connecticut State University Dean's List for the fall semester. The students were Samantha Bruer, Judith Exavier. Wayne Higgins, Emmanuel Icatar, Eric Keller, Cody Ludvinsky, Wilson Sango, Emily Bertipaglia, Jonathan Hernandez, John Iantorno, Anthony Nizzardo, Michael Simonelli, Rebecca Gabriel, Michael Gathers, Renata Santos, Ashley Tuccinardi, Mia Wilson, Megan Kellogg, Tara Kijek, Sean Pultz and Sam Strizver.
  • Two Stamford students were recently named to the Arizona State University Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester. The students were Julia Beers and Amber Ertrachter. 
  • Three Stamford students were named to the Rochester Institute of Technology Dean's List. The students were Ellianna Fournier, Vlad Ionescu and Brandon Tippelmann. 
  • Stamford's Frances-Nelynn Vargas and Matthew Fishman were named to the Honors List at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Vargas was named to the school's Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, N.J and Fishman was named to the college at Florham in Madison, N.J. 
  • Erin Barney, of Stamford, received faculty honors for the fall 2013 semester at Trinity College. To earn faculty honors, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of at least a 3.667 with no individual letter grade below B-minus.
  • Stamford's Amber Ertrachter recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University's December commencement ceremony.
  • Annie Zhang, of Stamford, has been named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. The selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2013 semester.
  • Stamford's David Medvedev recently made the Marist College Swimming and Diving Team. Medvedev competes in Freestyle on the team.
  • Clark University recently named Stamford's Emma Berman to first honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2013 semester.
  • Samantha Lyons, Stamford, has been named to the fall 2013 Champlain College Dean's List for academic achievements and achieving a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Lyons is majoring in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.
  • Two Stamford students were recently named to the Hofstra University Dean's List for Fall 2013. The students were Emily Boyer and Bianca Paulus.
  • Stamford Resident Alexander Melko Made the fall 2013 President's List at Pratt Institute. Melko was among more than 1,000 students who made the President's List in the fall 2013 semester. Stamford's German Yanez and Meaghan Morrow were named to the Dean's List. 
  • Melissa King, of Stamford, was recently recognized for achieving academic distinction at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. King, majoring in community health, was named to the dean's list at UMass Lowell for the fall 2013 semester.
  • Stamford's Michael Rivas was named to the fall 2013 Dean's List at American International College in Springfield, Mass. Rivas was one of more than 400 AIC students recognized for their academic achievements.
  • Nichols College announced that two Stamford students were named to the Dean's List for the fall semester. The students were Erin Sottosanti and Nicholas Veseli.
