STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Public Schools announced the hiring of three central office administrative positions Tuesday for next school year, a release said.
Susan Austin was hired as associate superintendent and will report directly to Superintendent Dr. Winifred Hamilton, and will play a role in getting the district ready for the Common Core State Standards, the release said. Currently she is the Principal at Stepney Elementary School in Monroe, and previously worked in the New Canaan Public School system and as an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University, the release said.
Dr. Tamu Lucero was hired as assistant superintendent elementary and will provide support and supervision to the elementary schools, the release said. Currently, she is principal at Worthington Hills Elementary outside of Columbus, Ohio and sits on the board Professional Advisory Board for the National Center for Learning Disabilities, the release said.
Mike Meyer who currently works as the Director Student Support Services for Stamford Public Schools, will switch roles to the Executive Director, Support Services and Special Programs, the release said. He will now oversee alternative programs including the Alternative Routes to Success program, English Language Learner programs, and special education, the release said.
