Stamford Kids Rehearse for Christmas Show

STAMFORD, Conn. — A total of 15 fifth-graders at Westover Magnet School stayed late Wednesday for choir rehearsal with Jerry Pia as they prepared for the Activities for Kids benefit concert this weekend.

The students sang and danced as the vice president of the Board of Education led them through their practice. Along with making sure the students knew all of words and the corresponding dance moves, Pia also explained how the performance will work. He said which choir will be singing which verse and what other performers will be doing while they are singing.

They will be joined by Pia’s band Slik Stuff, the choir at Northeast , the Activities for Kids’ choir and others at the concert. In addition to traditional Christmas songs such as “Here Comes Santa” and “Jingle Bells,” they will also perform Pia’s original song, “Christmas Time.”

In addition to music, plenty of other activities will be offered for people to enjoy at the Palace Theatre, including photo opportunities with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman and others.

All of the performers will rehearse together Friday afternoon at the Palace Theatre for the "Twas The Night Before Christmas" show at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. For more information about the show, visit Stamford Center for the Arts ' website.
