Stamford High School Yearbook Receives Three First Place Awards

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford High School's 2013 yearbook recently received three first-place awards from around the state. 

The yearbook, "Thirteen," was recently awarded a Gold Medal by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, a First Place award by the American Scholastic Press Association and a First Class Honor by the National Scholastic Press Association. 

School officials said the yearbook was critiqued by judges representing each of the three organizations and received points in areas including, content, presentation, page design, use of photography, and writing. Thirteen earned 813 points out of a possible 1,000 from Columbia; earned 3,730 points from the National Scholastic Press Association and received 910 points out of 1,000 from the American Scholastic Press Association.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our yearbook staff, both students and advisers, for their hard work and dedication to producing this award-winning yearbook,” said Stamford High School Principal Donna Valentine. “To receive confirmation from not one but three highly respected organizations that our yearbook is top rate, confirms what we believed all along.”
