Stamford All-School Musical was founded in 2007 and is sponsored by the Stamford Public Schools. It is a unique, after-school musical theater program that brings together Stamford public, private and parochial school students from elementary, middle and high school.
Each year, a full-scale, professional-level musical is presented, under the guidance of theater professionals, educators, and dedicated volunteers.
Based on the beloved cartoon family that has been entertaining the world for decades, "The Addams Family" musical brings to life Charles Addams' classical and creepy characters - Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Lurch, Grandma and Uncle Fester.
In a wicked twist, Wednesday Addams, the ultimate daughter of darkness, has fallen for a perfectly respectable and sweet young man. And if that weren't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.
Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before -- keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents.
"The Addams Family" features a book by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
The Stamford All-School Musical is made possible through support Pitney Bowes, the Garden Homes Fund, The City of Stamford Community Arts Partnership Program, Partner Reinsurance Company of the U.S., Salesforce.com, and the Herbert & Sarah M. Gibor Charitable Foundation.
