The open house will be held at the new site, located at 1351 Washington Blvd., Stamford, in Training Room 3.
The new site will allow the college to expand its radiography program, which includes both theory and clinical experiences.
"Radiography is a desirable career opportunity and with so few educational seats available in Southern Fairfield County, this program is in high demand and enrollment is very competitive," said Martha K. Shouldis, president and chief executive officer of St. Vincent's College in Bridgeport. "St. Vincent's College is excited to be at the forefront of preparing the next generation of radiographers."
The college's additional site includes 2,400 square feet of classroom space, a radiographic lab, offices and a student locker room. The program's clinical experiences will take place at Stamford Hospital and at select urgent care and outpatient facilities within the Stamford Health System and surrounding area.
This expansion allows St. Vincent's to play an important role in meeting the need within Connecticut for associate degree radiographers, which will be the minimum requirement for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Connecticut licensure beginning in 2015.
As part of the college's commitment to encourage lifelong learning and professional development, the program at the Stamford campus will provide a transition from the associate degree in radiography to the Bachelor of Science in radiologic sciences.
