STAMFORD, Conn. — Students at Stamford’s Davenport Ridge Elementary School received a surprise visit Wednesday from Storm, the mascot of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers hockey team.

Storm hung out the kids during their lunch periods to teach them about being more involved in their communities.

The mascot was also there in support of Davenport Night on Nov. 3, when members of the school community head to the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard to see the Sound Tigers play hockey.

This is the second consecutive year the school and team have partnered for a ticket fundraising opportunity. Last spring about 40 students and parents attended a hockey game.
