STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Winifred Hamilton and the Stamford Board of Education recently announced the appointment of Robert Smith-Biko as assistant principal of Turn of River Middle School.
Smith-Biko is a Stamford native and graduate of the Stamford Public Schools. He began his career in
education at Turn of River as an intern nine years ago.
He will assume his role as assistant principal on
Smith-Biko currently is administrative intern at Dolan Middle School, a position he has held since the
beginning of the school year. Prior to this position, Smith-Biko was a mathematics support specialist at Turn of River Middle School and a mathematics teacher at Dolan Middle School.
Smith-Biko also served on the Dolan School Governance Council, was a member of the AVID Site Team and supervised the football homework club.
Smith-Biko has masters’ degrees in middle school mathematics and K-6 education from the University of
Bridgeport. He earned his sixth-year degree in educational leadership and is enrolled in the University of Bridgeport doctoral program. Smith-Bilko also has a bachelor’s degree in applied science in telecommunications management.
