STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Public Schools appointed five people to administrator positions for the next school year Tuesday night.
“We are fortunate to have such qualified candidates within our Stamford Public Schools, who are prepared to take on broader leadership responsibilities. I look forward to their success,” Superintendent Winifred Hamilton said in a news release from her office.
Lisa Saba-Price will take over as the Principal of Newfield Elementary School and is currently the Assistant Principal at Stillmeadow Elementary School. She also has been an Assistant Principal and Program Improvement Planner at Davenport Ridge and a teacher in the district, the release said.
Jason Martin will become Principal of Rippowam Middle School after being an Assistant Principal at Westhill High School since 2010. He has teaching experience in Connecticut, New York, and Maryland as well.
The current Director of Math and Science, Carrie Chiapetta, will become Director of School Improvement and Professional Development. In her new role she will be directing the school improvement planning process, supporting the schools in fulfilling their improvement plans, and establishing professional development, the release said.
Mary Jennings will become the Director of Early Childhood Development after serving as Director of Literacy and Social Studies K-12 since 2007. In her new role she will be part of the team helping to prepare children for success in school, the release said.
Current Director of Special Education Services, R. Wayne Holland, will become Director of Support Services and Special Programs, and will be responsible for the development and evaluation of special education, psychology, speech pathology, and social work services, the release said.
