Kiplinger's ranked UConn as the 25th best value for the second consecutive year. The publication ranked the university No. 30 in 2011 and No. 32 in 2010, according to a statement released by the university.

Kiplinger's ranks the schools based on admission rate, test scores of incoming freshmen and graduation rates. That information is then coupled with financial data, including tuition, fees, room and board and financial aid statistics to determine a ranking, according to the university's statement.

“This is a gratifying recognition of how seriously the University of Connecticut takes its responsibility to provide our students with a world-class education while understanding the economic challenges many families are facing today,” President Susan Herbst said in a statement. “We’re glad to be acknowledged for our commitment to keeping UConn affordable while maintaining a first-rate academic experience for our students.”
