The incident took place in Hartford County around 2:45 p.m., Monday, March 11 at Munson's Chocolates in Glastonbury.

According to Lt. Kevin Szydlo of the Glastonbury Police, officers responded to the store at Somerset Square, 140 Glastonbury Boulevard, for a report of a vehicle driven into the building.

First responders located a white Buick sedan, driven by a 76-year-old man, inside Munson’s Chocolates.

An investigation determined the man drove over the sidewalk and through the front entrance of the store, which was open for business at the time of the incident, Szydlo said.

No injuries were reported; however, the operator of the sedan was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

A Glastonbury Building official responded and evaluated the building for structural damage before the vehicle was removed and property management began work to secure the storefront.
