Mark Scheck, the vice president of the Greater Bridgeport Property Owners Association, is hoping to get 314 signatures on a petition by Tuesday in order to force a primary in August, The Connecticut Post reported.

If Scheck is successful, he could be running against Lou DeCilio, who has been the registrar for a dozen years, The Connecticut Post report said.

According to the town's website, the registrar is responsible for "the administration of all local, state and national elections; the registration of all eligible voters; and the conduct of primaries and referendums."

This isn’t the first time Scheck, a senior systems analyst at Neopost and the president of a condo complex, has waded into political waters.

According to The Connecticut Post, the registered Republican is also seeking to have Democratic town Councilwoman Beth Daponte, who represents District 1, recalled.
