Fairfield Holds First Annual Holiday Shop And Stroll Thursday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Get in the holiday spirit and enjoy some great deals from local businesses at the same time at the first-ever Fairfield Holiday Shop and Stroll on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Fairfield's First Selectman, Mike Tetreau announces the town's first Holiday "Shop N Stroll" on Thursday, December 12th.

Participating shops in Southport, Greenfield Hill, Grasmere and Fairfield Center will stay open until at least 9 p.m. and will offer an assortment of hors d’oeuvres and seasonal refreshments to shoppers.

Traveling carolers and musicians will fill the air with holiday cheer, and local restaurants will be offering dinner or drink specials.

“This is a great opportunity to support our local businesses and get some holiday shopping done while enjoying a fun night out with family or friends,” Fairfield First Selectman Tetreau Mike Tetreau said.

Participating retailers will include: Apricot Lane, The Authentic Athlete, Banana Republic, The Beehive, Blinn’s Toy Store, Capri, Catch a Healthy Habit, Chic Jolie, Chico’s, Chloe’s Closet, Coreen’s Bridge Floral Shop, Dash ‘N Drizzle, Fairfield Center Jewelers, Fairfield Clothiers, Fairfield University Bookstore, Flip Flop Shop, Greenfield Liquor Shop, Hazel Daze, Henry C. Reid & Son Jewelers, Jenny Boston Boutique, J. McLaughlin, Island Outfitters, The Label Exchange, La Moda Fashions, Lexington Home & Garden, Lion’s Paw & Company, Loft, Mama Jane’s Global Boutique, Midas Touch Jewelers, Party Party, She3 Well-Fitness Boutique, Snappy Gator, Sweet Rexie’s, Swim ‘N Surf, Vintage Garden Gifts, 5 Oceans Fair Trade and Yoga for Everybody.

Caroling will be provided by members of the Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe High School Choirs. Greenfield Hill will feature music provided by Harmony on the Sound, courtesy of the Shaughnessey-Banks Funeral Home.

The Southport Merchants Association will also be sponsoring its Annual Christmas Walk on Dec. 12, with festivities set to begin with Santa’s arrival in Southport Village via fire truck at 5 p.m. Children will have an opportunity to visit with Santa at the offices of the Russell Agency, followed by the lighting of the Hospice Tree of Light.
