If elected, what would you do to improve roads and trains in Fairfield County?
Improving roads and transportation will be one of my top priorities if elected. Our state’s economy relies on safe, efficient, and effective transportation, and I will work to secure more transportation funding for Stamford at both the state and federal level. I will also focus on reducing state budget diversions from the dedicated Transportation Fund. If elected, what is your position on state spending and the state budget? I will look carefully at state revenues and expenditures and examine ways to reduce Connecticut’s long-term debt in a fiscally responsible way. My top priority will be to prioritize state spending on programs that will create jobs and grow our economy.
What is another top issue or priority in your town or district that you would address in office? Education. I will be a strong advocate for Stamford Public Schools and will fight for more state funding to help ease overcrowding in our schools. To this end, I will advocate for a more equitable distribution of the Education Cost Sharing (ECS) grant so that Stamford’s Public Schools receive their fair share of funding. Increased state aid to Stamford will also help reduce property taxes and make Stamford more affordable. Why should people vote for you? Stamford residents in the 144th DEistrict deserve a fresh, new voice in the legislature. I am energetic and optimistic about the future and will work tirelessly to support Stamford. In particular, I will try to make Stamford more affordable, to support small businesses, to improve education, and to keep Stamford safe. Drawing on my experience working for the federal government, I will strengthen federal, state, and local partnerships and will fight for more federal and state resources to support Stamford. And I will be transparent and responsive to constituents’ concerns.
