Stamford Tax Rate Set To Increase 3.41 Percent

STAMFORD, Conn. — Taxes will be going up 3.41 percent this year in Stamford as the Board of Finance set the rate for the upcoming fiscal year Tuesday night.

The city’s average mill rate for the city will be $23.73 per $1,000 of assessed value, and increase from $17.79 per $1,000 of assessed value for last year.

The mill rate breakdown by district is: 

A $24.04 per $1,000 of assessed value, up from $17.89 this year;

B: $23.55, up from $17.49; 

C: $22.67, up from $16.73; and

CS: $23.10, up from $17.08. 

The four districts are split geographically across the city and differ depending on certain services each receives.

The personal property tax $24.04 per $1,000 of assessed value from $17.89, and the uniform motor vehicle rate will go up to $27.25 mills from $26.50.

The fiscal year runs from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2014.
