“Come discuss a vision for the city and let us know what you think about what Stamford is today and what we should be 10 years from now,” the Master Plan’s website said.

The Master Plan was created in 2002 to show the development activity and demographic changes to the city over the past 10 years and to set out a vision for Stamford in 2025, the website said. The Planning Board now wants to look back and make adjustments based on where the city is now.

The plan serves as the blueprint for local decision-making on land use, economic development, housing, the environment and more, the website said. Connecticut statute says the Master Plan must be updated every 10 years.

You can view the 2002 Master Plan broken down by neighborhood, the citywide policies report and future land use map here. You can also “like” the Master Plan’s Facebook page for updates.

To help the city's staff and residents in shaping the plan, a consultant team has been hired. It is led by BFJ Planning and includes subconsultants Perkins Eastman, Stantec and Urbanomics, the website said.

The community workshop will be May 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ferguson Library downtown.
