Stamford Rep. Fox Takes Leadership Of Legislative Elections Committee

STAMFORD - State Rep. Dan Fox. a Democrat from Stamford, was appointed House Chairman of the General Assembly's Government Administration and Elections Committee.

The appointment was made by Democratic leaders, Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin) and Majority Leader Matthew Ritter (D-Hartford.)

The Government Administration and Elections Committee addresses state government organization and reorganization, the Freedom of Information Commission and the Ethics Commission; state and federal relations; interstate compacts; constitutional amendments, all matters relating to elections and election laws.

“I am honored by this appointment and look forward to working with Speaker Aresimowicz and Majority Leader Ritter for the opportunity to produce meaningful legislation under the Commission,” Fox said. “I appreciate this committee’s work and am eager to work across the aisle to better the lives of Connecticut residents.”

In addition to serving as Chairman of the Government Administration and Elections Committee, Fox will serve on the Judiciary Committee and the General Law Committee.
