Stamford Politicians Face Off In 32nd Annual Softball Game

STAMFORD, Conn. -- It wasn't quite the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. But the Mayor's Office faced off against their archrivals - on the ballfield - the Board of Representatives on Thursday night in an annual softball game.

The "War At The Shore," as the 32nd annual game was dubbed, took place at John J. Bocuzzi Park on Southfield Avenue.

The competition was a little uneven with some of the players displaying a little more ability than others.

The city's Director of Economic Development Thomas Madden jokingly held a hockey goalie's glove as his baseball glove before the game.
