STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Board of Finance member and Democratic mayoral candidate David Martin is criticizing his opponent, state Rep. William Tong, for printing incorrect information on a polling location flier.
In a press release, Martin says that a flier distributed by the Tong campaign lists the incorrect polling locations for Districts 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 14.
Martin's campaign said in the release that the mistake "will disproportionately impact minority voters, thousands of which reside in a number of these districts."
“It is disappointing that the Tong campaign could make such a fundamental error with just days to go before this critical election. I urge the Tong campaign to acknowledge this mistake and correct it by distributing the correct polling information to voters immediately,” Martin Campaign Manager Patrick Romano said in the statement.
Romano added in the statement that the mistake shows that Tong is "inexperienced with affairs on the municipal level and are more reason to believe that he is unqualified to serve as Mayor of Stamford."
Martin will face off against Tong in the Democratic mayoral primary election Tuesday, Sept. 10.
