STAMFORD, Conn. -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie endorsed Republican Michael Fedele for mayor of Stamford at a recent event in Greenwich.
“I’m pleased to endorse Michael Fedele for mayor of Stamford because Mike is a leader who understands what makes cities like Stamford successful,” Christie, a fellow Republican, said in a statement. “He knows that keeping taxes low, building coalitions and working in collaboration with the community is the way to accomplish great things.”
Connecticut's Gov. Dannel Malloy endorsed the Democratic nominee, David Martin, on Oct. 8
"I am so proud of Governor Christie's endorsement - and proud to have received the endorsements of so many of our great leaders in Connecticut, like former Governor M. Jodi Rell, former Member of Congress Chris Shays and so many state and local government leaders," Fedele said in a statement.
