Michelle Obama will make a campaign appearance in New Haven on Thursday, Oct. 30, to stump for the governor. That is just three days before a scheduled visit by her husband to Bridgeport.

His visit was rescheduled form earlier this month when he canceled to attend a White House meeting on the Ebola crisis. The details of his visit to Bridgeport -- time and location -- have not yet been released.

The first lady’s visit was announced Thursday by the Connecticut Democrats.

Malloy is locked in a tight race against GOP challenger Tom Foley, a rematch of the 2010 race that Malloy won by a slim margin.

The latest poll this week from Quinnipiac University shows Malloy has a razor thin lead of 1 percentage point in the race.
