Comey, a longtime Westport resident, announced that some data was marked classified at the time that it was shared while some were later "up-classified" in status.
Even if the data had not labeled as classified at the time it was shared, Comey added that Clinton should have known it to be as such.
While Clinton may not face a criminal indictment, Comey was scathing in his assessment calling her conduct "reckless."
The decision on whether to indict Clinton will formally be decided by Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who, according to published reports, expressed deference toward the FBI's recommendations after recently coming under criticism for briefly speaking with Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton, at an airport.
