According to McKinney's website, he has raised $178,561 from 2,033 donations, followed by Tom Foley, who has raised $131,511 from 1,592 donations.

As a declared candidate for governor who is participating in the state’s Citizen’s Election Program, McKinney must raise $250,000 from at least 2,500 individuals in contributions of $100 or less to qualify for state financing.

Candidates must either reach those thresholds on their own or by combining their total with the qualified contributions of a chosen lieutenant governor candidate.

“We are pleased with our progress and well on our way to qualifying,”  McKinney said in a statement. “I am looking forward to the Republican debates and the opportunity to show that I am the best and most qualified candidate to replace Gov. (Daniel) Malloy in November.”

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton is third in GOP fundraising with $121,059 from 1,577 donations. Mark Lauretti was behind Boughton with $110,525 raised from 1,353 donations.

Joe Visconti was well behind the top four with just $11,635 raised.
