Worker Injured While Changing Stamford Gas Tanks

STAMFORD, Conn. — A subcontractor was injured in Stamford when a steel girder fell on his legs Thursday morning, police Capt. Richard Conklin said.

The subcontractor was changing out the city gas tanks on Magee Avenue when the injury occurred, Conklin said.

The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, Conklin said.

The Occupational Safety & Health Agency will be in Stamford to complete an investigation, he said.
