Veronica Delgado, 38, of 85 Cove Road was charged with an assault on an emergency room worker, which is a felony, and third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

The suspect was going through her cell number looking for a number when the doctor reached in to assist, Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said. Delgado took umbrage with that and began swinging at the doctor. The doctor was able to shield herself so that she was only struck on the right forearm.

Delgado had also allegedly been very abusive and verbally threatening, police said. Her bond was set at $1,000
