Felicia D. Burl, 32, of 236 West Ave., was charged with two counts of second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and two felony counts of evading responsibility.
She was held on $500,000 bond and will be arraigned Thursday in state Superior Court in Stamford.
Stamford police said Burl was the driver of a 2002 Nissan Altima that was southbound on Alvord Lane when it blew through the red lights at the intersection with Main Street West and slammed into the front passenger side of a 2007 BMW 328xi station wagon at about 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.
The BMW was driven by Anthony Andriulli, 73, of Valleywood Road, Cos Cob. His wife Judith Andriulli, 70, was in the front passenger seat.
They both had to be extricated from the BMW by Stamford firefighters and were taken to Stamford Hospital where Judith Andriulli died of her injuries the next day.
A passenger in the Nissan, Henry Nixon, 50, of Ursula Place, Stamford, was ejected onto the roadway from the car, police said. He was transported to Stamford Hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.
Police say Burl fled the scene of the crash immediately on foot toward Greenwich.
After an investigation, Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad, with the department's Digital Forensic Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Narcotics and Organized Crime Units, named Burl as a suspect a couple of weeks ago.
They were finally able to trace her to a Greenwood Hill Street residence in Stamford, where city police and U.S. Marshals arrested her Wednesday.
