"I can't say a whole lot right now because it is being actively being investigated, and we have some other interviews that we have to do," Wilton Police Lt. Donald Wakeman said. "It is alleged to be inappropriate sexual contact."

The woman, who is in her 40s, went to the police at about 8:30 p.m. Monday to file a complaint about the man, who is in his 30s, Wakeman said.

"We know who the suspect is. He is known to the victim," Wakeman said. "They are not in a relationship, but they have known one another for a period of time."

Officers spoke with the man Monday night, Wakeman said.

The woman was transported for observation to Norwalk Hospital, but no physical injuries were reported, he said.

"There was no physical violence associated with this," Wakeman said.

A young child was at the residence at the time, but the child was not a victim in the alleged assault, Wakeman said.
