Wilton Man Injured In Fiery Crash Into Tree In New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Wilton man was injured after his car crashed into a tree in New Canaan and caught on fire Wednesday evening.

At around 6:56 p.m., New Canaan Police responded to the crash in the area of North Wilton Road and Cross Ridge Road. When they arrived, officers found a car crashed into a tree, and the car was on fire. Police said a Good Samaritan took the driver out of the car.

The only occupant of the car was the driver, a Wilton resident who was taken to the Norwalk Hospital emergency room with serious injuries.

Police said that the New Canaan Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the crash with the assistance of the Wilton Police Department.
