The arrests took place around 3:15 p.m. May 25 when officers were dispatched to a Main Street retailer on a report of shoplifting, Westport Police said.

When officers arrived, the employee provided the license plate of the vehicle and descriptions of the three people involved. Detectives watched the vehicle until the three suspects returned to the car and they were searched and taken into custody, police said.

The suspects were identified as Camaleetha Davis and Sophia Grant, both of the Bronx, and Rushane Dwyer of Brooklyn.

Each was found in possession of shoplifting devices for removing security tags. Dwyer and Davis were found with magnetic devices also commonly used for removing security tags. Officers recovered more than $750 worth of the stolen items, including merchandise from another store, from inside the vehicle.

All three charged with larceny, possession of shoplifting device, and conspiracy. They were all released after posting $1,500 bond.
