Randy Francis, 24, of 44 Sterling Place, Stamford, and Glachan Caleb (Lou) Charlestin, 23, of 117 Marion St., Bridgeport, are each facing murder charges in connection with the July 8, 2012, killing of Darius Jones, 22, of Seaton Road in Stamford.

Bond has been set at $2.5 million each for the two men.

Just minutes after midnight on July 8, four males were shot after leaving a party on Custer Street, police said. Jones was shot once in the heart with the bullet passing through his body, police said.

The other three males were wounded but survived. Police were hampered in their investigation by the lack of cooperation by witnesses but were able to identify Charlestin and Francis as suspects, police said.

Over the past 2 1/2 years officers slowly developed information to obtain arrest warrants for both men, police said.

Police finally struck in the last day as they arrested both men. Police have scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Thursday to release more information.
