The original incident took place Sept. 24 when a group of men, including Colangelo and Savinon, assaulted a Stamford man. While being beaten, the man took out a gun and shot two of his assailants, police said. Both men shot suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The shooter lost consciousness after firing, and had the gun taken away from him, police said.
