STAMFORD — Stamford officers operating on a tip arrested two people in the parking lot of fast-food restaurant while they were making a heroin delivery, police said.

On Dec. 7, officers in the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad staked out the McDonald's on East Main Street, Capt. Richard Conklin said.

A man matching the suspect’s description in a Ford Expedition threw an object onto the floor of the car as officers approached, Conklin said.

They recovered 30 "unstamped" bags of heroin, he said.

Jack Socci, 26, of Bridgeport, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

The driver, Alanna DePaola, 21, of Southport, was charged with possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Heroin is usually sold with a "stamp" from the dealer, but Conklin said dealers may be selling unmarked bags so drugs cannot be traced back to them, Conklin said.

"Unstamped" bags of heroin were found near three men who died of overdoses in Stamford in November, he said.
