Charged with one count each of possession of narcotics and third-degree larceny and three counts of failing to appear in court is Jennifer Fitts, 52, of 99 Unity Road, Trumbull.

Officers on patrol in the area of Franklin and Woodside Streets around 10:30 a.m. recognized Fitts sitting in the vehicle and knew she had warrants for failing to appear in court, police said. When they approached her they discovered that she had been apparently smoking crack cocaine, said Capt. Richard Conklin.

"She acknowledges she has missed a few court dates but was unaware of the warrants,” Conklin said.

Police discovered just under a gram of crack cocaine, Conklin said.

Police also discovered the Suburban had been reported stolen last week in Stamford, Conklin said.

Fitts was the only occupant of the vehicle.
