Trumbull Police Arrest 3 Teens In Car Stolen Out Of Stamford

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Three teenagers found driving around town in a stolen car in the middle of the night on Thursday have been arrested, Trumbull police said Friday. 

The Cobalt, which was stopped on Old Town Road, was stolen in Stamford last month, police said.

At 2:20 a.m. Aug. 17, a Trumbull officer on patrol spotted a 2008 Chevy Cobalt traveling on Old Town Road with the rear plate not illuminated, police said. 

After the Cobalt was stopped for the equipment violation, the officer determined the car had been stolen July 31 in Stamford, police said. 

The three juvenile occupants of the car — two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old — were ordered out and all complied, police said. 

The 16-year-old driver was charged with third-degree larceny and operating without a license. The other two juveniles were charged with conspiracy to commit larceny. 

All three were referred to appear at juvenile court Aug.t 23.
