The teen was arrested on Feb. 22, in connection with the case that took place on Jan. 5 at numerous retail stores in the city, police said.

At all locations, the 16-year-old from the Bronx, would purchase an item priced at $30 or less, then pay using a counterfeit $100 bill, police said.

With the help of a store’s surveillance video and nearby police departments that had experienced similar incidents, the suspect was identified and arrested, police added.

The unidentified teen was charged with five counts of forgery and five counts of larceny. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 12.
