The 16-year-old, who is not named because of his age, is being held at Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center on charges of possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds, criminal attempt at second-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor, the Stamford Advocate says.

The older student was arrested by school resource officers, who also recovered the kitchen knife. Police accuse him of attacking the other student Wednesday morning before a third student interrupted the dispute, the Stamford Advocate reports.
