Suspect's Mother Arrested In Domestic Fight In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford woman was charged with unlawful restraint after  locking her son’s girlfriend in a bedroom Thursday night, Sgt. Paul Vaccaro said.

The victim told police her boyfriend assaulted her after she took $25 from him to replace her phone which she broke, Vaccaro said. The suspect’s mother, Ruth Greene, 47, also got involved pushing the victim to the ground, and waving a razor blade at her, the sergeant said.

Greene was accused of locking the victim in a bedroom at the East Main Street residence, demanding she gives the money back, Vaccaro said.

The victim was able to climb out a window and call police, he said.

Police arrested Greene who was at home, but unable to find the boyfriend who remains at large, Vaccaro said.

The victim was treated for her injuries at Stamford Hospital, he said.

Greene was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree attempt to commit assault, and conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint, all misdemeanors, police said.
