Suspects in Armed Robbery Arrested In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Four 15-year-old boys suspected of an armed robbery in Bridgeport were arrested in Stamford early Tuesday, Capt. Brian McElligott said.

The teens crashed their vehicle into three parked cars on Williams Street, McElligott said. An officer had noticed the vehicle speeding and put his lights on just before the crash, he said.

Officers arrested one individual at the crash, and a police dog tracked the other three, who were found nearby at Cove Road and Dale Street, McElligott said.

The vehicle, which had New York license plates, was reported stolen, and reportedly used during the Bridgeport robbery, he said.

All four are Bridgeport residents, and will be charged by Bridgeport Police for the robbery, McElligott said. He did not know their Stamford charges, as the Youth Bureau took over the investigation.
