Suspected Cocaine Dealer Charged In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — A suspected cocaine dealer was busted in Stamford on Wednesday morning.

Members of the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit for Stamford Police found 63 grams of cocaine, $566 in cash, plastic bags and scales in the Stamford apartment of Pedro Alejandro-Reyes, 32, Capt. Richard Conklin said. The estimated street value of the cocaine is $6,300, the captain said.

Alejandro-Reyes gave officers permission to search his apartment after they pulled him over for a broken taillight, Conklin said. He had been under suspicion for a few weeks after police received complaints he was selling cocaine in the area and was under surveillance before being pulled over, the captain said.

He was charged with possession of narcotics, sale of certain illegal drugs, operation of a drug factory, interfering with officers and first-degree failure to appear, police said. He was held on $150,000 bond, police said.

Police also placed an immigration detainer on him after learning he had been deported to Guatemala after a previous arrest, Conklin said. The captain was unsure of how long he had been back in the country.
